The Atlantic Coast Conference is off to a dominant start in basketball, with six teams in the AP Top 25 including five in the top 13. Conference members are a combined 10-8 against non-ACC ranked teams so far this season with seven different programs grabbing at least one victory.
Six ACC teams are rated in the top-20 by KenPom, with all but two teams (Pittsburgh at 112 and Wake Forest at 142) in the top 100. The new NCAA approved set of metrics, NET, also favors the conference, with five teams in the top 20 and 11 members in the top 100.
Duke has throttled both Kentucky and Indiana, Virginia has bested Wisconsin and Maryland, and Louisville has taken down both Seton Hall and Michigan State in early-season non-conference matchups.
While every ACC team had the first two days off this week as many schools go through final exams, action picks up again later this week with several big games Saturday including Purdue vs. Notre Dame, Penn State vs. NC State, (4/6) Gonzaga at (12/12) North Carolina and Washington vs. (13/13) Virginia Tech.
