FSU recruiting is in a battle to keep its lone quarterback commit in the fold for 2019. We talk three reasons Sam Howell should sign with the Noles.
FSU recruiting currently stands at the No. 14 ranking in the nation with 15 commits and 80 percent blue chip ratio.
The current class still has a lot of needs to be addressed, but one spot that’s secure at the moment is the quarterback slot.
Four-star quarterback Sam Howell choose to commit to the Noles while on campus earlier this year.
Howell hails from Monroe, North Carolina, just outside of Charlotte also known as the home of country singer Randy Travis.
A huge reason Howell decided to commit to the Noles was due to Walt Bell who was the first coach to offer Howell a college scholarship while he was the offensive coordinator at Maryland.
Once Bell became offensive coordinator at FSU, it was natural for Bell to continue developing that relationship and Howell who ultimately felt comfortable enough to announce his commitment to the Noles in April
Walt Bell obviously left FSU to become the head coach at UMass Monday which has been a major impact on Howell’s recruitment who has been heavily recruited by the previous regime at UNC in his home state.
Willie Taggart met with Howell and his family Wednesday afternoon according to Josh Newberg of Noles247.
Let’s talk about why Sam Howell should stick with his commitment and sign with the Noles.
