Update: The AP Poll just dropped, and the ’Noles have made an impressive leap from No. 15 to No. 11. The Seminoles are also now ranked No. 11 in the Coaches Poll, up from No. 14
Last week, the Florida State men’s basketball program dropped a spot in both the AP and Coaches Polls after suffering its first loss of the season, to Villanova, and despite a top-20 win over LSU. The Seminoles’ stock should improve this week, as that defeat to the Wildcats remains the only blemish on the ’Nole record, while FSU added another nice victory over the (then) 19th-ranked Purdue Boilermakers.
That triumph over Purdue was Florida State’s only matchup since the last polls dropped a week ago today, but the Seminoles aren’t off for much longer. They return to their home hardwood tonight at 8 pm to host the Troy Trojans, and then, after another nice breather, they venture north to Newark, New Jersey, for a neutral court showdown with the Connecticut Huskies on Saturday night.
Once the rankings are released (which happens around midday), we’ll update this piece with them at the top, for your convenience.
