FSU coach says Zion Williamson is ‘most phenomenal talent’ in ACC since Michael Jordan | NCAA Basketball

Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton is fully aware of the challenges the Seminoles will face when they host Duke on Saturday, particularly with the Blue Devils’ star forward Zion Williamson.

Hamilton gave Williamson some high praise leading up to the matchup as he compared the freshman’s impact on the ACC to basketball legend Michael Jordan, who played with UNC from 1981-84.

“I think they have a player now that probably is the most phenomenal talent that’s been in the ACC since Michael Jordan,” Hamilton said of Williamson, via the Orlando Sentinel. “I think he brings a dynamic to their team.”

Williamson, 18, has created an enormous amount of buzz in just 14 games with Duke. He has made an immediate impact to start his freshman season, leading the Blue Devils to a 13-1 record while averaging 20.9 points with 9.5 rebounds. Williamson is shooting 67.9 percent from the field.

The No. 1 Blue Devils travel to face No. 13 Florida State on Saturday with tip-off set for 2 p.m. ET.
