FSU Football Tuesday Practice Updates and Observations

TALLAHASSEE — Florida State is gearing up for its rivalry game against Florida and returned to practice Tuesday morning.

Below are updates, observations and interviews from the practice session.

OC Walt Bell

RB Jacques Patrick

Not Observed/Limited

-OL Landon Dickerson (walked into practice, but was not practicing)

-OL Cole Minshew (not observed…Minshew is dealing with a neck issue)

-CB Levonta Taylor (not observed…hamstring)

-WR George Campbell (blue non-contact jersey, but was active)

-LB Jaiden Woodbey (blue non-contact jersey, but was active)

Notes, Observations

– The first-team offense, based on what we saw in the 11-man tempo drill, was:

QB Deondre Francois

RB Cam Akers

LT Derrick Kelly

LG Arthur Williams

C Alec Eberle

RG Mike Arnold

RT Brady Scott

TE Tre’ McKitty

WR Tamorrion Terry

WR Keith Gavin

WR Keyshawn Helton

It’s worth noting that Scott was at right tackle. He came off the bench in place of Jauan Williams last week and held up well at right tackle.

– The quarterbacks were working on triple-option concepts during position drills, with running backs taking a handoff, and either another back or a receiver taking a pitch from the QB (the QB, who was thrown a ball by Willie Taggart, quickly had to decide whether to pitch it or keep it based on his read of a mock defender).

– NFL scouts observing practice: New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers

– We’ll have practice notes and observations on Wednesday, as well as updates from defensive coordinator Harlon Barnett and defenders.
