FSU Men’s Basketball in the latest rankings: AP, Coaches, NET

Florida State, who hosts Troy on Monday evening at 8 p.m., is now ranked No. 11 in the Associated Press Top 25, which was updated on Monday. They were ranked No. 15 last week.

The Seminoles are 6-1 on the season. This past week they defeated Purdue at the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee, Fla. The Boilermakers, who were ranked No. 19 at the time of tip-off, fell out of this week’s AP Top 25 as they lost to Michigan after losing to the Seminoles.

The Seminoles will also travel to New Jersey to face UConn on Saturday at the Prudential Center in the Never Forget Tribute Classic.

FSU’s lone loss of the season came to Villanova in the AdvoCare Invitational Championship. The Wildcats are now ranked No. 21 in the latest Top 25 from the AP.

How the voters voted for FSU in the AP Top 25

FSU checked in at No. 11 in the AP Top 25.

They were ranked on every ballot cast.

The Seminoles were ranked as high as No. 8, by John Feinstein of National Public Radio in Washington, D.C., and as low as No. 20, by Jon Nyatawa, of the Omaha World-Herald in Omaha, Nebraska.

They received at least one vote at every spot from No. 8 to No. 20, with the lone exception being No. 18.

The most popular spot for the Seminoles was at No. 10, where 15 voters placed them. The second most popular spot was at No. 12, where 12 voters placed them. The only other spot with double-digit ballots cast was at No. 10, with 10 voters placing the Seminoles in that spot.

FSU also at No. 11 in Coaches Poll

Florida State is also now No. 11 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, which was also released on Monday. The Seminoles were No. 14 in that poll last week. 

Purdue remains ranked in the Coaches Poll, checking in at No. 24. Villanova is No. 21.

The latest on FSU in the NET rankings

FSU is ranked No. 40 in the NET rankings via the NCAA. The NET rankings are a new metric meant to replace the RPI for evaluating a team when it comes time to seed the field for the NCAA Tournament. The full list of NET rankings can be found here – it is updated after each day’s action.
