Florida State has extended a scholarship offer to Alabama quarterback commit Carson Beck.
Beck, a Class of 2020 prospect from Mandarin High in Jacksonville, announced on Thursday evening that FSU came through with an offer.
“Blessed to Receive an offer from Florida State University,” Beck wrote on his personal Twitter account.
Rated four stars, Beck is the No. 10 pro-style quarterback in the 2020 class and the No. 240 overall prospect per the 247Sports composite rating. He threw for 3,546 yards and 39 touchdowns to 8 interceptions this past season.
Beck pledged to Alabama in June, but he’s received an influx of interest lately. Florida is among the teams showing heavy interest in Beck, and he also has scholarship offers from Miami, Georgia Tech and others.
FSU currently has three scholarship quarterbacks on its roster: Redshirt senior Deondre Francois, redshirt sophomore James Blackman and redshirt freshman Jordan Travis. With limited numbers at the position, quarterback should be a priority for FSU in the 2020 cycle.
