Florida State offered Dodge City C.C. four-star inside linebacker Lakia Henry, a Tennessee commitment, during his unofficial visit to Tallahassee on Saturday.
“This offer means a lot,” Henry said. “I’m very blessed. Big-time offer from a big-time school.”
Henry, who originally hails from Vidalia, Ga., is visiting the Seminoles along with his mother and other family. He is expected to remain in Tallahassee overnight.
He has been committed to Tennessee since late May.
The Seminoles and Henry have been talking for more than a month. Linebackers coach Raymond Woodie is his primary recruiter for the Seminoles. FSU, who is looking for at least four linebackers in this class, believe that he is a strong flip candidate.
At this time, Henry is not expected to sign until February and will enroll in the summer. He has three years to play two at the next level.
The 6-foot, 225-pound linebacker is expected to return to FSU for an official visit in January. He has not yet locked in a date to return to Tallahassee.
The 247Sports.com Composite Rankings consider Henry the No. 3 overall junior college prospect and No. 1 inside linebacker in the junior college ranks for 2019.
