Gators continue rise up recruiting rankings with 4-star commit

The Florida Gators opened the day ranked No. 17 overall in the 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings. With the addition of Richmond (TX) Fort Bend Travis four-star wide receiver Arjei Henderson on Thursday during the Under Amour All-American Game the Gators continue their jump up the rankings moving all the way up to No. 15 in the 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings. On Florida’s move up the rankings, the Gators jumped the Florida State Seminoles and Washington Huskies.

Florida now has 22 players currently in the 2019 recruiting class. Those pledges include Lakeland (Fla.) four-star tight end Keon Zipperer, Forest (Miss.) four-star linebacker Diwun Black, Auburn (Al.) four-star linebacker Mohamoud Diabate, Lakeland (Fla.) four-star offensive guard Deyavie Hammond, Lawrenceville (Ga.) Mountain View four-star defensive tackle Jaelin Humphries, Madison (Al.) Bob Jones four-star cornerback Jaydon Hill, Roswell (Ga.) four-star linebacker Tyron Hopper, Lakeland (Fla.) four-star defensive end Lloyd Summerall, Belleview (Fla.) North Marion four-star offensive tackle Michael Tarquin, Richmond (Va.) Henrico four-star dual-threat quarterback Jalon Jones, Fort Washington (MD) National Christian Academy four-star offensive tackle William Harrod, Miami (Fla.) Doral Academy four-star offensive tackle Wardrick Wilson, Opa Locka (Fla.) Carol City four-star running back Nay’Quan Wright, New Orleans (LA) Warren Eason cornerback Chester Kimbrough, Buford (Ga.) three-star offensive guard Riley Simonds, Clewiston (Fla.) three-star wide receiver Ja’Markis Weston, Clearwater (Fla.) Superior Collegiate Academy three-star offensive tackle Ethan White, Mount Dora (Fla.) Christian Academy three-star linebacker Jesiah Pierre, Gainesville (Fla.) Buchholz three-star safety Trent Whittemore, Jacksonville (Fla.) Sandalwood three-star offensive guard Kingsley Ekuakun, Deland (Fla.) three-star wide receiver Dionte Marks and the aforementioned Henderson. Of those 22 names currently in the Gators class, all but Black and Henderson have signed during the Early Signing Period.

In the Southeastern Conference, Florida’s 2019 recruiting class still ranks No. 7 overall. The SEC programs ranked ahead of the Florida Gators currently are the Alabama Crimson Tide at No. 1 in the country, Georgia Bulldogs at No. 2, Texas A&M Aggies at No. 3, LSU Tigers at No. 4, The Auburn Tigers at No. 11, Tennessee Volunteers at No. 13.

lorida’s current average grade per commit sits at 89.46. The Florida Gators still have some upward mobility in the 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings withmore spots to fill in the class. The Gators look to be in good position to add several more blue-chip recruits to their 2019 recruiting class. Florida leads North Palm Beach (Fla.) The Benjamin School four-star cornerback Kaiir Elam and Bellflower (Ca.) St. John Bosco four-star cornerback Chris Steele. The Gators will also be set to close out their 2019 class with many prospects already set official visits with the coaching staff for the month of January when the Winter ‘Dead Period’ ends.

The 247Sports Composite, an industry generated average, currently ranks Henderson as the Nation’s No. 126 overall prospect in the 2019 recruiting class.
