Jackets Take Down No. 21 Florida State – Men’s Tennis — Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

THE FLATS —  The Ga Tech men’s tennis team (6-5) defeated No. 21 Florida Condition, on Friday afternoon at the Ken Byers Tennis Intricate.

In doubles, the Jackets clinched the doubles point following each Joseph Gandolfo/Chris Yun took down Lucas Poullian/Juan Martin Jalif, 7-6 (7-4).

The victory came when each the Jackets and the Seminoles had each individual received a match in doubles, giving the Jackets the doubles point.

In singles, No. 106 Cole Gromley defeated Rana Roop Bhullar, 1-6, 6-3, 6-1, and Andrew Li topped Juan Martin Jalif, 6-3, 6-1.

Chris Yun and Phillip Gresk each fell in their matches. Yun dropped his match Richard Thongoana, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2, while Alex Knaff defeated Gresk, 6-3, 7-6 (7-1).

Joseph Gandolfo also fell, shedding a rough fight to Chase Wooden. Wooden defeated Gandolfo, 6-1 6-4.

With the score tied 3-3, No. 36 Carlos Divar battled with No. 63 Lucas Poullain.

Divar gave the Jackets a 4-3 get with his defeat about Poullain, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2.

The Jackets will be on the street on Sunday as they will deal with the Clemson Tigers at 1:00 p.m.
