Knicks potential draft targets R.J. Barrett, Cam Reddish carry Duke in thriller over FSU

In what was an ACC thriller in Tallahassee, Duke’s R.J. Barrett and Cam Reddish were crucial in turning an upset into a big road win against the No. 13 ranked Florida State Seminoles.

Normally we highlight Zion Williamson’s performance, but the project No. 1 overall draft pick didn’t play the second half due to an eye injury he sustained in the first. He finished his day 5-for-10 from the field for 11 points and eight rebounds.

With Williamson out, it was Barrett who took over in the second half. He had a game-high 32 points on 10-of-19 shooting, including four three-pointers. He also had three rebounds and two steals.

But Barrett’s biggest blunder came with just five seconds left on the clock. After getting fouled down two points, Barrett made only one of his two free throws. The Blue Devils, though, caught a break as the ball hit a Seminole on the way out of bounds.

With 2.8 seconds on the clock, head coach Mike Kryzewski drew up a beautiful play that pulled the Seminoles toward Barrett, leaving Reddish with no one in sight as he knocked down a three-pointer to call game. Reddish had 23 points, including a 5-for-8 line from beyond the arc.

One of these two Blue Devils could land in a Knicks uniform next season depending on how the draft pans out. Right now, the Knicks own the fourth slot before the lottery and Tankathon has New York selecting Reddish, who showed he can have ice in his veins when a clutch shot needs to be hit.

That shot had current Knicks G Allonzo Trier showing love on Twitter as well.

This Duke trio continues to impress as each game comes along.
