Four-star LB Kalen DeLoach has already committed to the Florida State Seminoles for the Class of 2019. But that isn’t going to stop Michigan from making a strong appeal to get DeLoach to change his mind.
According to Maize N Brew, head coach Jim Harbaugh has been making direct appeals to DeLoach’s family, even going so far as to visit both of his parents at their workplaces recently.
Harbaugh’s efforts are not just the random acts of someone desperate to flip a commitment though. If recent reports are accurate, DeLoach’s final decision is still very much up for grabs.
247Sports reported yesterday that DeLoach is still “wide open” as to his college choice despite having committed to Florida State.
DeLoach has also denied that he plans on signing his letter of intent for Florida State in the coming weeks.
The Islands High School LB also talked about how the team plans to use him.
“They talked about how I can be plugged into the defense,” DeLoach said, per Maize N Brew. “Fill in behind Devin Bush and just make plays playing man coverage because they play a lot of man. (They said) just come in and work hard. They want to coach me.”
A strong push from Harbaugh and company might be enough to change his mind about the Seminoles.
