First Half

Normal starters for NC State vs. Florida State:

Wolfpack starts out slow on the offensive end, but trails FSU 8-4 at the first media timeout with 15:54 left in the first half. Markell Johnson and C.J. Bryce with two points early on for NC State.

Pack shooting 28.6 percent from the field, 0-of-2 from behind the arc through first 4:04 of action. Christ Koumadje — FSU’s 7-foot-4 big man — already with two blocks on Torin Dorn and Wyatt Walker.

NC State goes on a run of its own to make it a 12-12 game with 13:17 remaining in first half after two D.J. Funderburk free throws.

Jericole Hellems draws a foul on Terance Mann, shoots 1-2 from the line and NC State trails 14-13 against FSU with 11:57 left to play in first half.

MJ Walker hits both free throws for Noles and FSU takes a 16-13 lead over NC State. Wolfpack still scoreless in last 3:18 of play, but only trail by three.

Walker hits a triple and FSU is now on a 7-0 run with only one field goal made. NC State trails 21-13 with 8:06 left in first half as Keatts calls a timeout.

Jericole Hellems ends a nearly 5:00 scoring drought for NC State with a triple. FSU leads 21-16 with 5:56 left in first half. Florida State shooting 1-of-7 over the last 3:00 while NC State shooting 1-of-11 with four turnovers in the last 7:00 of play.

Wolfpack goes on a 10-2 run after the under-8 media timeout to make it a 23-23 game at the under-4 timeout. State shooting 3-of-9 from behind the arc despite shooting just 28 percent from the field thus far.

Funderburk goes to the line after drawing a foul and hits both FTs, but Kabengele responds with a 3-pointer. FSU still leads, 28-25, with 2:00 left to play.

Trent Forrest gets a bucket on the other end, but NC State gets one back as Markell Johnson goes 1-2 from the free-throw line. NC State down 30-26 with 1:26 left in first half.

Markell Johnson gets a bucket near the end of first half, but called for a technical foul after telling the referee “And-1!” and not getting the call. Terance Mann responds with 1-of-2 from free-throw line, making it a 35-30 FSU lead at the half.

2nd Half

Florida State opens up the second half with a 6-2 run, but a Braxton Beverly’s first triple of the game makes it a 41-35 game with 17:12 left to play.

NC State gets two baskets from Torin Dorn to make it a 43-39 game with 15:44 to play, but Markell Johnson is called for his fourth foul at the under-4 media timeout in the second half.

Dorn with six straight points for the Pack to make it a 43-41 game with 14:33 left to play. Dorn now has eight points in the second half.

NC State now shooting 5 of its last 6 while FSU is 0 of last 5 shots. Noles still leading 45-41 with 13:42 to play after Cofer goes 2-2 from FT line.

Devon Daniels quickly responds with a bucket to make it a 45-43 FSU lead with 13:26 to play.

NC State trails, 49-47, after a Torin Dorn jumper and Blake Harris layup with 11:08 left to play. Harris will head to the free-throw line out of the media timeout to try to make it a one-point game. Harris hits the FT to make it 49-48.

A lot of offense in the last several minutes of play in Tallahassee! NC State was down 63-57 before back-to-back 3-pointers by Markell Johnson then Braxton Beverly to tie things up with 6:44 left to play. Florida State calls a timeout.

NC State has a chance to tie it up, down 76-73 with 15.9 seconds remaining in Tallahassee.

Braxton Beverly misses front end of a 1-and-1 after drawing a foul with eight seconds remaining and NC State is forced to foul FSU. Seminoles make both free throws to finish the game with a 78-73 win over NC State.

FINAL: No. 18 Florida State 78, NC State 73
