No. 11 Florida State (7-1) travels north to Newark, New Jersey to take on the Connecticut Huskies (7-2), in their first season under Dan Hurley (Rhode Island).
FSU really struggles in two areas: turnovers on offense, and fouling on defense. Connecticut is solid forcing TO’s (85th nationally at 21%), but the Huskies struggle at getting to the free throw line. As long as the Seminoles protect the ball, they should win rather comfortably.
Star power forward Phil Cofer returned to practice for FSU this week, but it’s yet to be determined whether he’ll play. I’d personally save him for next Monday’s contest against Southeast Missouri State in Tallahassee.
The ’Noles opened as 9-pt. favorites in Las Vegas, but that’s been bet down to 7.5 points with an over/under of 154 points. They’re still favored to win 83-74 on Ken Pom.
The game is set to tip at 6:30 and will be televised on ESPN2 (Watch ESPN app on your computer/tablet/phone).
