It was a really cold night in South Bend. So cold, that the 27 degrees at kickoff was the third coldest game time temperature since 1980. The Irish seemed to embrace their homeland’s climate, and most of the team went sleeveless. Some… well, some had a really good time before the game.
The cold certainly had no adverse effect on Notre Dame’s ability to score. The Irish put 42 points on the board, and they ran the football 50 times for 365 yards. 202 of those yards (as well as two touchdowns) came from Dexter Williams.
Not a bad senior day at all.
