Three-star offensive tackle Darius Washington has arrived at Florida State for his official visit.
The Pensacola product arrived in Tallahassee on Friday morning, giving the Seminoles a shot at adding a (fairly) local prospect at a major position of need. FSU offered Washington a scholarship on Sunday evening, about a month after hosting him on an unofficial visit. The offer helped spark this weekend’s visit.
Washington is committed to Mississippi State, and the Bulldogs pushed for the 6-foot-4, 285-pounder to visit Starkville unofficially this weekend. Getting Washington on campus was a significant step forward as the Seminoles try to close on him. Mississippi State is obviously the frontrunner to land Washington at this time, but the FSU visit and two official visits to Miami (Washington was able to take two visits to Coral Gables because the Hurricanes had a change at head coach) will make the fast-rising prospect’s recruitment interesting down the stretch.
