A pair of Florida State coaches – tight ends coach Telly Lockette and running backs coach Donte’ Pimpleton – made their way to Dunnellon (Fla.) during the day on Monday to visit with long-time FSU pledge Maurice Goolsby.
This marked FSU’s second visit to see Goolsby in a two-week period. Area recruiter Mark Snyder checked in on him during FSU’s first week on the road.
Goolsby, who is ranked as a four-star prospect, has been committed to the Seminoles since he visited for the spring game in mid-April.
He is considered firm in that pledge and yesterday’s news of Walt Bell’s departure for UMass isn’t expected to result in him second-guessing his commitment.
At this time, he is FSU’s lone receiver in the class.
He is currently among the long list of expected official visitors on Dec. 14th, which includes a number of FSU’s commitments.
The 247Sports.com Composite ranks Goolsby as the No. 47 wide receiver in the nation.
